Our Story
Embrace the unexpected.
My name is Natalie Jenkins, and I am a licensed Home Inspector. Wasn’t what you were expecting, huh? To be honest, the plan was originally for my husband to become a home inspector so he could leave the car sales business. However, after working with yet another inconsiderate contractor, I thought, “Why can’t I do this?” I made a call to a realtor friend in Vero and decided to move back to my hometown to raise my family, become a home inspector, and launch my own business.
Seize the Day.
The idea behind Carpe Diem Inspections, LLC name is a bit of a sad one. Over 14 years ago, one of my best friends took his own life. I was devastated. He was the last person I would have ever expected to do something like that. Like the case of Robin Williams, everyone loved him. It was after that I realized I needed to “Carpe Diem” which is Latin for “Seize the Day” and make every day count.
It’s in my DNA.
I have over 30 years of experience in the construction business. Raised in Vero Beach, I come from a family-owned construction company, Stroh Construction, Inc. operating in the area since 1986. My experience also includes working with a concrete specialist, roofing/GC contractor, plumbing contractor, and septic company, as well as property management assistance. This gives me a wealth of knowledge necessary to provide detailed inspections and excellent communication skills.
Licensed, Trained & Certified by the Best.
I obtained my certification through ICA School, one of the premier inspection schools in the country and was trained and mentored by local inspector. I hold memberships with InterNACHI as a Certified Professional Inspector and FABI as a Registered Professional Inspector. I am also a member of the Oceanside Rotary Club and Indian River County Chamber of Commerce.
Your family’s safety is as important as our own.
My husband Derek and I have been married since 2016 and we have two amazing children. When I’m not in the field, I spend time with my family volunteering, attending arts and crafts fairs, going to the beach, swimming, boating, and fishing… basically enjoying anything outdoors. I work hard every day to provide the best service by continuing to expand my knowledge and expertise through continued education, bringing a new perspective to this important and growing industry.
